The house that was nearly lost

A fine example of a Rozelle house that had fallen into disrepair. We bought it, subdivided, and brought the original back — sandstone, jointing, proportions and all.

We retained and enhanced the character of the facade, and kept as much of the original interior as could be saved. Sadly that was not a lot. What replaced it had to look like it had always been there.

Blonde wood and high ceilings give the house a light and airy feel. We added modern touches that do not show — Cat 5 cabling and cable television points throughout.

The spacious downstairs divides into a library with a fireplace that looks onto the street, and a larger living area separated from a cook’s kitchen with Gaggenau appliances. There are three bedrooms upstairs, one of which leads to a loft conversion that would make a perfect play area or retreat.
